Have a Book
“The Invisible Library”
Alice felt particularly curious as she passed the sign, looking around she realized there was a library indeed, but it was not invisible… well, at least it seemed to be until she read the sign.
She then entered a wide hall. You may wonder… What is the use of a book without pictures or conversation? That must not be a problem, if it doesn’t lack imagination. In fact, there was barely no furniture inside the library, books had the most different functions: from coffee tables to musical instruments, even their own bookshelves consisted basically of books.
“The Invisible Librarian”
That was when Alice noticed another girl on a pile of… books, of course. She was also not invisible, but, once again, Alice hadn’t seen her before.
‘Excuse me’, Alice started
‘Oh, What took you so long, my dear?’, said the librarian finding the little girl’s eyes, and before Alice could say anything she continued ‘Here, have a book’ pointing at something she assumed to be a well arranged chair.
‘You mean seat’, the curious kid quickly interrupted.
‘Well, no, I usually mean exactly what I say. Alice, am right?’ replied the librarian.
Alice simply shook her head and sat down. Looking around she realized there wasn’t much to do but read at that moment, so she handed herself a book, started reading and lost her sense of time. It could have been hours, weeks or years until one of them spoke again.
‘Do you want some tea, darling?’, asked the librarian. Alice looked up and saw no tea, but she was getting used to this kind of situation so she accepted the non-existent drink anyway. Suddenly, a complete set of tea appeared on the book-table between them.
‘How…’, Alice murmured.
‘It takes time and a whole lot of thinking’, said the librarian grinning, ‘Here, kid, have a book’.
But this time the questions inside Alice’s mind spoke louder than her patience. ‘What do you mean? Where is this place? How can something imaginary become real, and something invisible, visible?’
‘Paradox’, replied the other, ‘Do you like your book, dear?’
Alice positively shook her head one more time while the librarian focusing her eyes on a distant point - probably a book - drank small bits of her tea. Alice waited and the librarian started again ‘You are really good at questioning, Alice. I dare say it is even one of your hobbies. So I have a question for you: Are you asking the right questions? I don’t blame you, of course, you have been taught to look out for the wrong things, but somehow you happen to be a very curious girl’, at this point she was talking more to herself than with anyone else.
‘I don’t quite understand…’, said Alice
That probably brought the librarian back to reality, to which she replied ‘Understand? Come here Alice, my dear, have a book.’

To dream seems to be the most childlike state of any human being. It might be naive to state such thing, but also, isn’t dreaming extremely naive? Inside one’s mind, they have a desire for something to turn into reality and dare to believe that if they work hard on that possibility, their dream will actually come true.
Is it too innocent of me to expect a good thing of some part of my future?
For all you optmistics out there, pessimists have dreams as well…
